Successful applicants will receive all recruitment related correspondence via the email account registered on the application form.Aneurin Bevan University Health Board support flexible working.Please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any time should it be filled via the internal redeployment processJob OverviewPLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY ANEURIN BEVAN UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARDThe Division of Surgery is currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated person to join our us to support the scheduling team in the delivery of key services and cancer targets within the Surgery Division, initially joining the Urology Team.As a service, it is vitally important that we provide a high quality service to patients, therefore if you are interested in joining a highly motivated team - it would be great to hear from you.The post holder will be responsible for ensuring all protocols are adhered to and undertake appropriate action in necessary adhering to RTTrules.The post holder will plan, prioritise and organise theatre and lists, taking into account such matters as pre-assessment fitness, availability ofequipment, clinicians, case mixes, etc. You must possess the ability to adjust accordingly in line with any changes, and to manage your own workload to defined departmental policies and procedures. A manager will be available for reference when required.Each scheduler deals with a large volume of individual theatre and clinic lists, making the appropriate allocation of patients within definedtimescales.Main duties of the job Ensure cancer targets are achieved Ensure patients are prevented from breaching targets Theatre capacity is utilised and cancellations are kept to a minimum Regular communication with the Team Leader and Urology consultants and clinical nursing team. All theatres are booked within internal and national targets, including RTT and ‘Treat in Turn’ Patient focused booking and direct patient booking are utilised to increase utilisation and reduce DNA rates Ensure an efficient telephone service is maintainedThe ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months, from start date, to cover an absence.
