Please note, this opportunity is open to Tanzanian Nationals only*** A successful GSE Technician will carry out, as part of a team, as directed by the GSE Manager, all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair on all equipment /vehicles and plant maintained by various Technical Services Workshops to ensure functional reliability to meet the 24 hour requirements of the operations. Duties/ ResponsibilitiesReading blueprints or layouts to determine work orders for repairs or improvements.

Continuously suggest and implement modifications on the equipment’s/vehicles based on the required approvals from manufacturers & higher authorities to reduce maintenance costs and improve performance & safety of the same. Ensure that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment damage. Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management System.

Inform the GSE Manager of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of any maintenance works. Guide and train the Junior Maintenance Technician as required on the maintenance aspects of all equipment/vehicles and plants. Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of toolsTroubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using electrical and hydraulic schematics with test equipment is required. Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment components. Prepare and complete electronic work orders. Maintain company equipment; to be kept in clean, orderly, and functioning condition. Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI's).

Read and understand Manufacturer provided literature. Communicate with associates and management effectively regarding equipment conditions, issues, and recommendations. Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions. Promote a safe work environment, and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards. Able to meet the Station’s attendance standards. SafetyResponsible for the health and safety and duty of care at the workplace. Report any hazards, injuries, ill-health or near miss occurrence to your supervisor or employer. Cooperate with your employer with any health and safety directives in the workplace.

Job Specific Skills/ RequirementsPossess/maintain a valid state driver’s license 2 – 5 years related experience and/or training. Professional and detail-oriented thought process. Knowledge of airport Ground Service Equipment (GSE) and airport operations is a plus, but not required. Able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy items of 75 pounds or more; as well as bending standing, climbing, or walking. Able to work various shifts, including weekends.
