Pet GroomerClassification: Non-ExemptReports To: Grooming Manager / Store ManagerJob SummaryThe Pet Groomer is responsible for providing high-quality grooming services that ensure the health, safety, and comfort of pets while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires skill in handling animals, performing grooming services, and maintaining a clean, professional grooming environment.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide full-service grooming including bathing, brushing, clipping, trimming, nail care, ear cleaning, and other services as requested.Consult with pet owners to understand grooming needs and special instructions.Ensure the safety and well-being of all pets in care, using proper handling techniques.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, workstations, and equipment.Manage grooming appointments efficiently to maximize productivity while minimizing stress for pets.Recommend and promote appropriate products or services to customers.Monitor pets for signs of stress, illness, or injury and report concerns to management.Uphold company values being positive towards people and pets, eager to learn, team-oriented, and accountable in all interactions.QualificationsPrior grooming experience or certification from a grooming school preferred.Strong animal handling skills with patience and compassion.Ability to groom all breeds to standard styles or customer specifications.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift animals up to 50 lbs safely.Work EnvironmentThis role requires working around animals of various sizes and temperaments, exposure to cleaning products, and use of grooming equipment.
