A long history ofstrong area partnerships with local school districts, otherorganizations, and families creates a unique opportunity to make asignificant difference in these beautiful, rugged, and resilient coastalMaine communities.Reporting to the President, the Downeast Director is Maine SeacoastMissions compassionate, strategic, and effective senior leaderoverseeing all Mission Downeast programs and activities based at theDowneast Campus in Cherryfield, Maine. Responsibilities includeeducation and service programs; Mission Downeast staff; facilities andmaintenance; partnerships with organizations and schools; budgeting andbudget management; and coordination of administrative activities withcentral Mission administration functions, including finance,development, marketing, technology, planning, assessment, and humanresources. The candidate for the Downeast Director position willcurrently work and live in the Downeast community, andthey willbe amember of the community supportnetwork.Administration:** The Missions central administrationis responsibleforkey administrative functions, including finance, marketing, IT, humanresources, fundraising, planning and evaluation. As regards MissionDowneast, the Downeast Director will coordinate with President andsenior management team to:Plan for budgets, marketing, programs,facilities, and capital projects. Coordinate administrative functionsincluding IT, human resources, and facilities. Implement Missionmarketing and communications strategies. Help fundraise for programs,including grant development, individual donor cultivation, andfoundation giving. Develop an integrated strategic, campus, and programplan. Manage risk; ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatoryregulations; and align efforts with industry best practice. Account forportfolio area goals, benchmarks, and performance indicatorsProgram Implementation:** The Downeast Director ensures all DowneastCampus programs are integrated in support of Downeast children, theirfamilies, and communities. Programs that fall within the DowneastDirectors purview include Food Security; Community Engagement;allEdGEprograms, Service Tours, and Challenge Course. For all programsin the leadership portfolio, the Downeast Director will:Work withPresident toidentifyinitiatives for development or retirementandallocateresources in alignment with community need and Missionstrategic thinking. Ensure that all programs work toward common ends andboth in design and implementation and embody the values outlined in theMissions Conceptual Framework. Maintain and oversee execution of programdevelopment, delivery, and assessment while adhering to relevantregulations and industry best practices. Oversee program staffidentification, dev lopment, support, and accountability. Overseeprogram budget development and resource allocation.Supervision:** Provide leadership, direction, and support for MissionDowneast program leaders to achieve program outcomes, support community,and honor budgets. Administer meaningful formative and summativeevaluations for all direct reports and ensure the same is done for allMission Downeast staff. Maintain a diverse, committed, and engagedMission Downeast staff thatrepresentsa blend ofprofessionalexpertiseandexperience;local communityaffiliation;and directexperience with Mission programs. Establish an exemplary MissionDowneast campus culture of challenge and support characterized byhighexpectations; personal growth; reflective practice; communityengagement; celebration of diversity; individual and programmaticevaluation; and adherence to regulation and industry standards.
