Employer of Choice in Education for 2025Excellent resources and development opportunitiesComprehensive wellbeing and family-friendly benefitsAbout The RoleThe Australian School of the Arts (ASTA) at Sheldon College is a state-of-the-art program that includes the ASTA Academy Programs and the audition-based ‘Professionals’ Arts Excellence Program. These programs cater for students from Preparatory to Year 12 across all facets of Arts Education and have over 1000 students enrolled.We are seeking a Drama Tutor to contribute to our co-curricular program by delivering engaging, well-structured weekly classes. The successful applicant will cultivate a respectful and inclusive learning environment where students discover the joy of Drama through collaborative and vibrant learning opportunities.The role involves planning, preparing and delivering high-quality, differentiated Drama programs aligned with co-curricular outcomes and best practice. This includes developing students’ practical and theoretical skills across script development, improvisation, movement, speech, contemporary performance techniques and project-based learning. About YouMinimum 12 months’ experience working in Drama or Performing ArtsDemonstrated ability to deliver both theoretical and practical Drama instructionExperience working with school-aged studentsStrong skills in improvisation, play making, movement, speech and contemporary performance techniques (desirable)Commitment to professional excellence and student achievementStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively and independentlyEfficient time management and organisational skillsPossess or be able to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card)Current Queensland Driver LicenseRelevant industry qualifications and/or demonstrated teaching experience in Drama or Performing Arts will be highly regarded.About Us Sheldon College is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational College situated in Redland City, catering for students from 15 months of age through to Year 12.
