The role involves preparing job cards, ensuring drawings align with manufacturing capabilities, checking designs before manufacture, and producing accurate shopfloor documentationPOSITION INFO:Duties:Design and prepare detailed engineering drawings using relevant design software and ensure that drawings produced are within manufacturing capabilities in terms of material and tools.Drawings must be created to suit manufacturing processesPrepare job cards and associated documentsCo-ordinate and execute the list of jobs to be detailed as per job card in accordance with priorities and instructionsCheck designs and details before submitting for manufactureContribute to improving designs and detailingEnsure that internal procedures are maintained and produce reports as requiredRecord, report and document information associated with project/customer specificationEnsure proper communicationQualifications: Education/Training:MatricSuitable qualification in Metal & Engineering ManufacturingArchitectural drawings qualification (advantageous)Programming qualification (advantageous)Work Experience:At least five (5) years of experience in the creation of engineering drawings, preferably in the Sheetmetal industrySpecialized Knowledge & SkillsAccurate creation of drawings to reflect customer requirements using appropriate softwareThe ability to understand and interpret job cardsThe ability to understand plans and drawingsWorking knowledge of relevant design softwareWorking knowledge of Fabri Trak software systemProficient in Microsoft packageUnderstand the various production processes limitationsKnowledge of the metal manufacturing materialsOrganizing and planningExcellent written and verbal communicationExcellent attention to detailAbility to produce detailed shopfloor drawings both accurately & timeouslyAccurate loading of the Bill of Materials (BOM)Good mathematical reasoningAccurate use of measuring equipmentGeneral knowledge of fabrication and erection standards, standard technical terminology, common structural steel practices, and drafting room procedures.
