About The ProjectNorth Luangwa Conservation Programme is a partnership between Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) and the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW), working to conserve the North Luangwa landscape since 1986.We are recognised as one of Zambia’s leading conservation programmes, the first to be accredited to the IUCN Green List, and committed to equitable conservation, inclusive community engagement, and innovative landscape management under the mission “Linking Livelihoods and Landscape.”About The PositionNorth Luangwa Conservation Programme (NLCP) is seeking a Driver to be based in Chama. This role is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation and logistical support to programme operations in the North Luangwa Landscape.Your TasksTransport & Field SupportSafely transport staff, partners, and goods to and from field locations, meetings, and project sites.Ensure passengers and cargo follow safety guidelines.Support setup for meetings, trainings, and community engagements.Vehicle Operation & CareDrive programme vehicles responsibly in rural and remote terrain.Perform daily vehicle checks (fuel, oil, water, tyres, tools).Maintain a clean, well-presented, and road-worthy vehicle.Report mechanical issues immediately and support servicing schedules.Logistics & Administrative SupportAssist with delivery and collection of goods, documents, and supplies.Support procurement and stock movements as requested.Maintain accurate fuel usage logs, mileage records, and trip reports.Assist in securing and tracking programme assets and equipment.Safety & ComplianceComply with all NLCP and DNPW transport, safety, and security policies.Follow traffic laws and internal vehicle use procedures.Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in dealing with partners and communities.Community & Stakeholder EngagementRepresent NLCP positively and respectfully in all interactions.Support field teams during community activities when required.Uphold NLCP values, including respect, integrity, and community partnership.Your ProfileGrade 12 Certificate.Valid Zambian Class C or C1 driver's license (Psv advantage).At least 2 years of proven driving experience, ideally in rural settings or NGO/government work.Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine maintenance checks.Good communication skills; ability to read and write basic English.Familiarity with local languages such as Senga or Tumbuka is an advantage.High integrity, reliability, and ability to work with diverse teams.Willingness to travel extensively, work flexible hours, and stay in remote field locations when needed.Good understanding of rural community settings is an added advantageWe OfferAn opportunity to work in one of Zambia’s most unique conservation landscapes.A supportive and motivated team environment.Professional growth and development opportunities.Fair and competitive salary based on qualifications and experienceYour ApplicationIf you are passionate and ready to take on this challenge, please submit your Curriculum Vitae and Cover Letter detailing your relevant experience and motivation to join the North Luangwa Conservation Programme or drop your applications at any of the following offices: FZS offices in Chama, Mpika, DNPW, Mukungule CRB, Nabwalya CRB, Lundu CRB, Kambombo CRB, Chifunda CRB, Chikwa CRB and District Forest Offices (Mafinga District)About UsFrankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) is an internationally operating conservation organisation based in Germany that has been supporting conservation projects in Africa, South America, South East Asia and Europe for many decades.
