The current response portfolio focuses on Health, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Protection, and WASH programming through Project HOPE programs and local partnerships.This role is offered as a consultancy position based in Jamaica for Local Nationals only. We are looking to fill 4 (four) positions. These consultants will be working in the western regions of Jamaica supporting operations near Westmoreland, St. James, Trelawny, Hanover, and St. Elizabeth parishes. This is six- month consultancy.ResponsibilitiesTransport authorized clients, staff, visitors, goods, messages, mail, etc.Collect and deliver goods, documents, and other items as directed.Pick up and drop off staff and officials from the designated areas as advised.Take care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean. and in good mechanical conditionRead and understand specific vehicle operating manual to ensure the safe and appropriate operations of the vehicle.Obey traffic rules and road signs, negotiate, liaise, and coordinate with local authorities to facilitate smooth running of vehicle. Any fines imposed for disobeying traffic rules will be paid by the driver.Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.Identify any apparent problems during field deliveries and report them to the appropriate personnelOther duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Not Applicable.Experience LevelMinimum of 5 years of driving experience, preferably with an international organization.Clean Valid Driver’s License, knowledge of local driving rules and regulationsDefensive Driving Certificate (Preferred)Personable and works well with people.Able to multi-task and maintain good records.Skill requirement/sSubscribe to the values of Project HOPEKnowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs. Knowledge of radio, email, telephone, and other applications.Trustworthy, high sense of responsibility, alertness; physical fitness on duty, emotional stability, neat and courteous.Good knowledge of areas and the current conditions of roads and highways.Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.Ability to fluently communicate in both verbal and written English.Physical Demands And Work EnvironmentConsultants should be able to work in an office setting, communicate effectively, and travel as needed. Assignments may include field or emergency deployments in austere or hardship environments.
