E-Commerce Business Development Manager

ROLE PURPOSEWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced eCommerce Business Development Manager to nurture and grow our digital business in the UK, Ireland, Finland and the Netherlands.This role is a key part of our B2C growth strategy and will focus on managing marketplace and direct-to-consumer (DTC) operations in the region.The ideal candidate will be based in the UK and have a strong track record in eCommerce operations, particularly with Amazon, local marketplaces, and webshops.This individual will report directly to the Head of eCommerce Europe (Europe) and will be responsible for developing and executing regional strategies aligned with broader company goals.The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in:Amazon FBA and/or FBM operations, ideally across multiple marketsDirect-to-consumer (DTC) sales via third-party marketplacesManaging B2C and B2B webshopsStrong operational expertise in platform management, fulfillment strategy, and middleware integration.Using data and analytics tools to drive traffic, optimise conversion, and increase sales through content and merchandising.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate to lead and execute the eCommerce strategy for the UK&I, Finland and the Netherlands, across Amazon, local marketplaces, and DTC platforms.Define the go-to-market approach for digital platforms in the region, including market/customer prioritisation, fulfilment models (FBA/FBM), pricing architecture, product portfolio, and promotions.Monitor and optimise performance on Amazon and other local marketplaces, ensuring alignment with regional sales targets.Own full P&L responsibility for the eCommerce channel, ensuring alignment with the regional growth and profitability targets.Launch and manage Sylvania webshops in key countries, overseeing all operational aspects including platform integration, customer experience, content, and fulfilment.Collaborate closely with product management, marketing, logistics, and IT to ensure operational readiness and consistent execution across platforms.Monitor and analyse key eCommerce metrics to optimise traffic, conversion, and sales performance.Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns (SEO/SEM, PPC, etc.) to drive regional growth within your jurisdiction.Serve as the primary point of contact for eCommerce-related matters in the UK, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking for regional digital platforms.Work closely with the European eCommerce team and central product management organisation to address regional needs, ensure local market relevance, and drive commercial success.PERSON SPECIFICATION AND BACKGROUNDBachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Commerce, or related field.Proven experience in eCommerce or digital operations, with a strong focus on Amazon and local marketplaces.Proven experience managing DTC webshops.Familiarity with eCommerce operations in the UK/ Europe including fulfilment, tax, and regulatory aspects.Good working knowledge of middleware and integration tools (e.g. Linnworks, PlentyMarkets)Strong analytical skills and comfort with eCommerce KPIs, analytics platforms, and reporting.Fluent in English; proficiency another language, highly desirable.Experience working in a matrixed, multinational organisation is a plus.Self-starter with a hands-on mentality and a passion for digital growth.Experience in lighting, smart products or consumer electronics is a strong advantage.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONYou combine vision with hands-on drive - thinking big, acting fast, and owning outcomesHybrid working possible – must be based in the UK with travel across the region.You inspire teams, challenge the status quo, and bring clarity and focus to complex challengesExcellent working environment with home office possibilitiesPrivate Medical CareThe role will be UK-based, with the opportunity for occasional travel to other Sylvania entities or the Head Office in Europe.
