With more than 60 nationally recognised apprentice, trainee and cadet roles throughout Council, the program also offers tailored career ready and work experience opportunities for university and high school students. LET’S EXPLORE THE JOB As our Early Careers Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering early career programs across Council. From apprenticeships and traineeships to cadetships and tailored work experience placements, you’ll oversee existing initiatives while bringing fresh ideas and best-practice insights to continuously improve the program. You’ll lead end-to-end recruitment, offer expert guidance to leaders, and build meaningful partnerships with education providers and training organisations. As a visible advocate for Council, you’ll inspire youth and career changers by showcasing the impactful work we do and the diverse career pathways we offer. Your support will ensure early career employees and their supervisors are empowered throughout their journey, from onboarding to successful program completion. Let’s Hear About You We’re looking for someone who brings energy, empathy and expertise to supporting others in their career journey. With a Diploma in Human Resources, Business, Education or a related field or equivalent experience, you’ll have a solid foundation in talent development and a passion for helping people thrive. Your communication style is inclusive and adaptable, allowing you to build meaningful connections with diverse learners, supervisors and external partners. You’re highly organised, collaborative and confident managing competing priorities. Whether you’re mentoring early career employees, guiding supervisors, or showcasing the impactful work we do, you bring professionalism and warmth to every interaction. You handle sensitive information with integrity and are always looking for ways to improve outcomes for learners and our teams. An understanding of vocational learning programs, the Australian Apprenticeship System, NSW and Federal Training Schemes is required and experience in end-to-end recruitment will be highly regarded, but not essential.
