Mō te tūranga | About the rolePermanent part time role (0.5 FTE) with flexible working conditionsDelivery of environmental education projects and programmes with a specific focus on secondary and youthWork collaboratively with Senior Education Advisor and Kaihapai Hotaka Mātauranga Māori Advisor and other WRC areas where appropriate to strengthen and utilise opportunities to deepen deliveryDevelop a strong professional network among youth and secondary engagement professionalsConnect youth to other significant youth-oriented activity of peer organisations across the regionProvide support for education facilitators and other education projectsMō te tangata | About youPassion for the health and wellbeing of our environment and peopleSkilled, inclusive facilitator with a style of working that brings people together and maintains engagementExcellent communication skills -written and verbalKnowledge of Te Tiriti principles and commitment to Te Ao Māori and tikangaExperience building relationshipsEffective time management and prioritisation skillsMō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experienceTertiary qualification - Bachelor’s degree in education and/ or community development.Five to seven years working in the community or education sectorsProgramme delivery experience within secondary schools and/or youth organisationsExperience of delivering education activities linked to NZ secondary school curriculum or Te Aho Matua and Marautanga, Kura a iwi CurriculumA working understanding of environmental education in AotearoaMō te tīma | About the teamPassionate and supportive teamMō mātou | About usWe work hard to care for the mighty Waikato, so current and future generations will benefit from a healthy environment, strong economy, and vibrant communities.Our mahi is as diverse as the region we care for and the people who share it.
