Klune Industries was acquired by Precision Castparts Corp. in August, 2012.Position Summary:The EHS Internship provides a student with valuable experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. The EHS Intern supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety program by assisting with program updates, job hazard analyses, chemical inventory, 6S initiatives, environmental reporting, audits, and employee training. This position includes both administrative and hands-on field activities. The intern will interact regularly with EHS, Operations, and Human Resources personnel and is expected to conduct daily floor walks.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Support EHS policies, programs, and projects to reduce workplace hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.Assist in updating and maintaining EHS procedures, records, and training materials.Conduct and document safety audits, inspections, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).Participate in environmental monitoring and reporting, including stormwater, air quality, and hazardous waste.Support incident investigations and corrective action tracking with supervisors.Assist with the 6S programAssist with chemical inventory management.Help coordinate employee safety training and meetings.Promote safety awareness and enforce PPE requirements throughout the facility.Maintain organized EHS files and assist with data entry and analysis.Perform other duties as assigned to support the EHS team.Required Skills:Self-driven and eager to learn.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Basic understanding of environmental or safety principles.Ability to train and engage others on safety-related topics.Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft OfficeData analysis and recordkeeping skills.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.Adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced environment.Required Experience:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, Geography, EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Policy, or a related field.Familiarity with administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and document organization.Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Coursework or hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, water or air sampling, laboratory analysis, or workplace safety inspections preferred.Level of EducationActively attending or recently graduated from an accredited university with a focus in Environmental Science, Geography, EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Policy, or other related natural or social sciences. Students with coursework or hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, water sampling, laboratory analysis, or air quality assessments are encouraged to apply.Physical Demands and Working Conditions:The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
