Electrical Controls Engineer

Overview The Electrical Controls Engineer is a professional,non-overtime eligible position that reports to the VP of Engineering.The Electrical Controls Engineer designs, develops, and supervises allaspect of electrical control systems for equipment and machinery.Determines the effectiveness and maintainability of new automationsystems and manages the automation change process for existingequipment. The salary range for this position is \$80,800.00 to\$130,900.00 per year. Compensation will be determined based onEducation, Experience, And Other Factors In Accordance With Applicablelaws. Essential Functions Design and build control systems for processcontrol and automation projects Design and build Human Machine Interface(HMI) control systems for custom Pick and Place automation equipment.PLC Control System Design with a focus on hardware, panels andinstrumentation. CAD based panel layout and schematic design. Implementselectric controls design by providing installation, start-up, andtechnical support. Meet and interact with vendors in various capacities.Provide Hands on trouble shooting and machine start up. Generate andmanage project documentation. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Bachelors Degree inElectrical or Controls Engineering Work experience or Co-op relatedexperience with PLC, SCADA and HMI programming and design. Familiaritywith process systems and continuous processes. Skilled in automationarchitecture design. Knowledge in current trends in automation andinstrumentation to be able to select and implement modern controlsarchitectures. Preferred: 5+ years work experience in the fieldExperience with Vision Systems, Scara Robots, and Automated Pick & Placeequipment. Experience with Validation of electrical system Skilled withMicrosoft Office, excel, and word. Strong interpersonal skills, diligentand dependable Physical Requirements Able to work under the pressure oftight deadlines Ability to give and receive feedback Able to lift and/ormove up to 50 pounds occasionally Able to remain stationary for anextended length of time The person frequently operates a computer andtroubleshoots control systems. The person must be able to detect visualdiscrepancies in standard procedures The person in this position needsto occasionally move about the inside of the facility as well as commuteto other CSI facilities to access other production equipment.
