Electrical Engineer - Water/Wastewater Treatment PlantsLeinster, Ireland€75,000-85,000 + DOEThe CompanyThis long established Irish engineering contractor delivers complex water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and specialist industrial utility projects across Ireland. With a strong pipeline of municipal and industrial works secured for the coming years, the business continues to invest in high calibre electrical and automation professionals.Operating from Dundalk, this company is recognised for its technical expertise in water infrastructure, data centre water treatment systems, and process driven environments. They are known for delivering robust, compliant and energy efficient solutions across regulated sectors where quality and safety are critical.The Role Electrical EngineerAs an Electrical Engineer based on projects in Leinster, you will play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of electrical systems for water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.This is a hands on position offering real project ownership from detailed electrical design through to installation, testing and commissioning. You will work closely with mechanical, civil, automation and process teams to ensure electrical systems are compliant, buildable and delivered safely on programme.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical systems for municipal water treatment and wastewater treatment plantsInterpret electrical schematics, P and IDs and wiring diagrams for integration and troubleshootingCarry out electrical design reviews, identifying specification gaps and resolving technical queriesValidate cable sizing, protection selection and equipment specification in line with I.S. 10101 and IEC standardsPrepare and review technical submittals and procurement requisitionsCoordinate electrical subcontractors and suppliers throughout project deliveryEnsure compliance with Safe Electric requirements, NSAI standards and environmental regulationsSupport commissioning activities, preparing test packs and overseeing specialist vendorsAttend QA and QC inspections, resolving site installation issues efficientlyCollaborate with BIM teams to ensure practical and maintainable installation layoutsWork closely with automation and instrumentation engineers on PLC and control integrationAbout YouDegree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineStrong experience with 3 phase industrial electrical systems including motors, MCC panels, starters, PLCs and instrumentationProven background working on water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations or industrial process environmentsSolid understanding of I.S. 10101 2020, IEC standards and Irish electrical certification processesProficient in AutoCAD and confident interpreting technical drawings and P and IDsAnalytical and solutions focused with strong technical communication skillsComfortable taking ownership of projects in a multidisciplinary engineering environmentFull Irish or EU driving licenceWhat’s on OfferSalary: €75,000-85,000 + DOECompany vehicle or vehicle allowancePension contributionHealthcareLaptop and phoneOngoing CPD and training in water and wastewater infrastructure projectsLong term career progression within the Irish water and utilities sectorWhy Apply?Water and wastewater treatment is one of the most secure and future proof sectors in Irish construction and engineering.
