Job Description

We’re looking for a motivated Electrical Engineering intern to join at Northpower on a three months fixed term contract. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects that support the design, analysis, and maintenance of our electrical distribution systems.Role Responsibilities:Assist in the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical distribution systemsSupport field operations and maintenance teams with technical insightsContribute to projects involving grid modernization, renewable integration, and smart meteringPerform data analysis and reporting to improve system performanceCollaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teamsExperience:Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with power systems, circuit analysis, and electrical safety standardsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesEagerness to learn and contribute to real-world energy challengesAbout us:Northpower is one of the largest multi-utility contractors in New Zealand, servicing the needs of clients in transmission, distribution, generation, fibre and commercial sectors.
