About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and maintaining electrical equipment to meet customer requirements across substation and distribution environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical regulations, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. A tool of trade vehicle is provided for the role but is limited to work use only. Role Responsibilities: Electrical FittingConstruct, install and maintain electrical equipment to meet customer requirements in substation and distribution environments.Carry out all electrical work in line with industry regulations and company standards.Keep accurate records, documentation and reports for all work completed.Take full ownership of the tasks you’re responsible for, ensuring quality and accountability at every stage.Apply strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly and safely.Qualifications:A certificate in Electrical Engineering or currently working towards one (advantageous).EWRB Registration - Electrician (required).Experience:Experience working in substations (11kV–110kV) and/or distribution network equipment (400V–11kV) in either construction or maintenance.Strong focus on safety and compliance.A team player with good communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.Logical thinker with strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.Practical aptitude across both mechanics and electronics.Able to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the task.Physically capable of meeting the demands of on-site work.High level of accuracy, attention to detail and pride in delivering quality results.About us:Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangārei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers.Northpower is one of the largest multi-utility contractors in New Zealand, servicing the needs of clients in transmission, distribution, generation, fibre, renewables, and commercial sectors.We have a reputation for excellence and innovation, providing commercially viable solutions for electrical and telecommunication design, construction, and maintenance requirements.We have over 1,400 staff working together across 14 locations to keep the power on and the lights going for our customersApply Now:If you’re looking to take the next step in your career, feel inspired to join a value based, culture of care and an employer who fosters an innovative environment where professional development is supported direct your profile into our career’s website and search for #Req1803.Suitable applicants will be interviewed whilst the advertisement is open.
