Also travel/work from/to Mine site/project close to Polokwane (est. 2 days/week) and Head office in Fochville (est. 1 day/week). Pool vehicle and mine site accommodation provided.Role DescriptionAs a first assignment, that might be as long as 2-3 years the work will be to develop/realize a data centric strategy/operation based on a new underground mining project starting end of 2025. Various resources will be instrumented to provide valuable technical and operational information. The candidate will be required to: install/understand hardware installation, engage with mining and contracting representatives as well as engineering/operational staff. Be involved in setting up communication/servers/IT related requirements/firewalls, etc. Also to monitor real-time/continuous data collection onsite/remote. Data will be processed, dashboards created, data analytics performed, large language models created, and artificial data performed for digital agents to aid personal/management. Also involved in business optimization procedures/processes, etc. Exposure will be provided to software training (Aveva, Connect, Historian, etc), exposure to conferences/symposiums as well as access to various group engineering resources and subsidiary digital companies. Also engineering consultants.QualificationsProficiency in Data Modeling and Data WarehousingExperience in Data AnalyticsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and within a teamExcellent communication and collaboration skillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (recently graduated candidates accepted, 5-10 years experience is a plus Previous experience in the mining sector is a plus
