High power, high repetition rate ultrafast lasers are essential for generating and manipulating the electron beams and for most of the science experiments at the X‑Ray Free Electron Laser facilities FLASH and European XFEL. We operate several ultrafast laser systems 24/7 with excellent availability, and our team focuses on the development of novel ultrafast high-power laser systems covering the spectral range from ultraviolet to mid-infrared. We develop in-house laser diagnostics and controls, laser beam transport, and focusing to the optical interaction point.
