Quality Engineer (Quality Supplier)We are currently seeking to recruit a Quality Engineer to be based in our Amsterdam Office. Purpose of the RoleManage EPPAP, when applicable. Support supplier selection process. Supplier Quality Rescue Project Development and Execution. Ensure the results of each project are on the right schedule and quality. Strengthening relationships, promote integration and enhance communication between supplier’s and Embraer’s quality teams. Coordinate, present and guarantee targets achievements for middle management meetings, both internal at Embraer and at the Supplier. Join the top management meetings, both internal at Embraer and at the Supplier whenever needed.
Initiate and lead continuous improvement activities at Suppliers, incorporating Lean and P3E processes. Apply engineering principles to improve production processes. Audits methods of suppliers' management of their sub-suppliers’ abilities to guarantee quality. Visits sub-tiers to help address their issues when deemed necessary. Interact with Supplier’s and Embraer’s teams to coordinate and follow up on the investigation of technical issues, identification of appropriate solutions, and ensure quality in the delivery process to Embraer and its customers. Analyze several operational, technical, and administrative matters related to parts quality.
Follow up on quality performance and apply corrective measures to detected problems. Provide regular written and verbal reports on observations, findings and action plans agreed with vendors as well as on plans implementation. Perform Supplier’s Quality evaluation by assessing supplier’s risk and performance . Execute Non-conformity handling process & corrective actions . Execute Non-conformity costs reimbursement process. Executes Supplier blocking , when needed. Onboard suppliers to relevant tools. Support elaboration and adherence to APQP plan. Define and manage EPPAP deliverables, when applicable. Execute quality tools to improve supplier’s performance (e. g. , F4G)Perform supplier Quality System audits.
Perform supplier products audits. Perform technical visits at Suppliers. Perform change management process by handling quality and manufacturing process requirements changes , facility changes and Supplier’s supply chain, when applicable. Lead continuous improvement initiatives at SuppliersEnsure that Supplier’s products and processes meet the highest quality standards. Monitor the production processes, carry out regular checks and audits to ensure that all processes meet quality standards. Work with different departments to define and achieve quality goals. Profile of the Suitable CandidateBachelor’s degree in engineering, ideally in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or industrial engineering.
At least 5 years of professional experience in supplier qualityComprehension, understanding and execution of broad practices associated within the quality and related fields. Apply these understandings in the completion of complex work assignments. Practical experience in technical problem-solving using methods such as Six Sigma or 8DPractical experience in using QM core tools such as 8D, FMEA, MSA, SPC and process capability analysisPractical experience in leading several problem-solving projects in operations, suppliers or development environments. Ability to set up and coordinate a problem-solving program at Supplier. Six Sigma Black Belt certification desired.
Availability for national and international traveling, including for long periods. Fluent in English; proficiency in other European languages such as Portuguese or Dutch is a strong advantageAdvanced level of proficiency in utilization of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project. Demonstrates client support and service quality techniques. Interpret and comprehend drawings, writing/communication/organization/negotiation skills, technical publications, reliability analysis. Ability to identify and recommend corrections to ensure parts Quality. Ability to provide inputs to teams on process issues that may be affecting the overall performance of the work to be done. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
