You’ll have the opportunityto take ownership of your work while developing and testing new ideas within aculture of learning to deliver excellent outcomes for Manningham.About The RoleThis position is responsible for supporting the delivery ofemergency management functions including planning, response, relief andrecovery. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholdersto ensure Manningham is prepared for and able to respond to emergencies effectively.Play a pivotal role in building a safer, more resilient community, directly shaping how Manningham prepares for, responds to and recovers from emergencies.Join a supportive, high‑performing team that values innovation, collaboration and professional growth, with access to training, mentoring and opportunities to influence emergency management maturity across the organisation.Make your mark in a dynamic and evolving field, with the autonomy to lead initiatives, develop new ideas and work closely with emergency services, government agencies and community partners.Key Responsibilities IncludeCreate and maintain Emergency Management Plans, Standard Operating Procedures and other emergency management associated documentation.Coordinate the Vulnerable Persons Register in line with Dept. for Families Fairness and Housing (DFFH) policy.Lead the recruitment, coordination and training for the Manningham Council Emergency Support Team.Administer Manningham’s Crisisworks system and support training initiatives.Support emergency activations, relief centres, and recovery operations.Liaise with emergency services, government departments, and community groups as needed.Grow organisational maturity with the processes and systems as part of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement, enabling effective cost recovery from emergencies and disasters.Maintain systems, practises and doctrine to support the MAV Inter-council Emergency Management Resource Sharing Protocol, in response to large scale emergencies.Skills And ExperienceExperience in emergency management or a strong motivation to learn.Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time-sensitive tasks.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.Demonstrated strength in fostering open communication and teamwork to drive coordinated, high‑quality results.Ability to engage, build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.Experience in supporting training, exercises, and documentation processes.A current Victorian driver’s licence.Position DescriptionThefull Position Description can be viewed below or is available on the jobadvertisement on the Manningham careers section: Job VacanciesHow To ApplyClick APPLY to submit your up-to-date CV and coverletter addressing the key requirements of the role.
