EMERGENCY PROGRAM COORDINATOR (Emergency Medical Services)

Job Description

Coordinates and manages all programs under the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Section of the Division of Emergency Management (DEM). Supervises the EMS Section staff and exercises administrative control over assigned programs and activities. This is highly responsible administrative work coordinating and managing the Division's EMS compliance programs and budget. Drafts standard operating guidelines, policies, agenda items, contracts, agreements, and operational plans. Serves as the County's EMS Program Manager, representing the Division in meetings. Assures the EMS Ordinance and Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) are being adhered to. Serves as the primary liaison to the Operations Section Chief during Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations; assists the Director as needed.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Public/Business Administration, or closely related field; minimum of four (4) years of experience in Public Safety, Emergency Management, or closely related field, including one (1) year of experience supervising the work of others. Equivalencies: Related Associate's Degree/unrelated Bachelor's Degree and six (6) years of related experience, including one (1) year of experience supervising the work of others; unrelated Associate's Degree and seven (7) years of related experience, including one (1) year of experience supervising the work of others; graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and eight (8) years of related experience, including one (1) year of experience supervising the work of others.Necessary Special Requirements: Must obtain Certifications in National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses: IS-100, IS-700, IS-800, and IS-2200within six (6) months of hire. Must obtain Certifications for NIMS training courses G-191, G-2300, and G-300 within 11 months of hire.Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
