Google Data EngineerWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Google Data Engineer to join our client’s forward-thinking data team. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative data products, leveraging modern cloud technologies, with a strong focus on GCP (Google Cloud Platform), DevOps, and advanced data engineering practices. You'll take end-to-end ownership of both existing and greenfield data solutions, helping deliver high-value insights and scalable data architectures. Key Responsibilities: Take end-to-end responsibility for building, optimizing, and supporting data products aligned to the target data vision.
Champion a DevOps mindset, managing CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure (GCP). Transform data into meaningful insights using DBT and BigQuery. Ensure all data products are independently deployable and adhere to standards for security, scalability, observability, and performance. Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to refine existing data products and shape new ones. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives related to data mesh architecture. Drive continuous improvement and actively reduce technical debt. Stay current on the latest in data engineering and cloud technologies. Participate in root cause analysis and problem resolution to ensure system reliability. Required Skills & Experience:
4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer on modern cloud data platforms or in advanced analytics environments. Strong hands-on experience with DBT and BigQuery. Hands-on experience with GCP tools such as Dataflow, Dataproc, and BigQuery. Familiarity with data processing frameworks: Apache Beam, Spark, Hive, or Flink. Proficiency in data query languages such as SQL. Experience with data-centric programming using Python, Java, and/or Scala. Understanding of various data formats (e. g. , Avro, Parquet). Solid grasp of data modelling techniques and trade-offs. Experience with both NoSQL and RDBMS databases. Knowledge of CI/CD, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills. Self-starter comfortable working independently and making decisions. Experience with data visualization tools. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Desirable Skills: Understanding of data mesh principles and distributed data architecture.
