ENERGY DATA ANALYSTSalary Range: $64,350 to $80,440 per year1.0 FTE Permanent Contract Position with a defined end date of August 31, 2027The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Energy Data Analyst to work as a member of the Maintenance and Environmental Services team. The Energy Data Analyst will work directly with the Supervisor, Building Automation Systems and will assist in tasks identifying, measuring, and verifying energy and sustainability opportunities and overall performance of over 100 SCDSB facilities totaling over 6 million square feet. The position will include the analysis and reporting of utility consumption and demand data, identification of billing anomalies, identifying energy savings opportunities and validation of conservation and sustainability improvement measures implemented to maximize energy performance and minimize energy costs. The position will be primarily in the office but will require site visits at times to conduct on-site energy audits and verify equipment.Qualifications, Pertinent Skills, And ExperienceThree (3) year college diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Systems Technology or equivalent, preferably with Certification through the Ontario Association Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). LEED EP Certification, CEM (Certified Energy Manager), Certified RETScreen expert are considered an asset.Three (3) years related experience in the areas of energy analysis, building systems design, building science or equivalent.Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems.Ability to evaluate building drawings, schematics, schedules, and shop drawings to support building energy modelling and project design stages in the energy auditing process;Strong analytical skills, data visualization, report writing and attention to detail;Proficient in relevant computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, Utility, SQL, software etc.);Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulatory requirements utility reporting, related to building systems installation and maintenance.Excellent organizational and time management skills;Ability to learn quickly and be highly motivated to actively seek out answers to questions and work closely with the maintenance team and other departments within facility services;Strong oral and written communication skills;Previous experience in an education environment would be an asset;Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic, evolving environment;A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required as this position will require travel to various sites throughout Simcoe County;The duties, responsibilities and requirements for this position are not limited to the above but may include all of those listed This is a full-time 2-year permanent contract position with a defined end date of August 31, 2027. The successful applicant must meet a 5% savings on energy consumption annually for this position to become permanent after August 31, 2027. The regular work year for this position is twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position is $64,350 to $80,440 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
