Reporting to: Solid line to the Regional Sr. Manager and dotted line to the Engagement and Partnerships Director.Location: Based in Barbados - Hybrid (1 home - 4 office). Visit our website for more information.We are funded by philanthropic organisations, including the Rockefeller Foundation, Quadrature Climate Foundation, Ballmer Group, European Climate Foundation, Packard Foundation, IKEA Foundation, Oak Foundation, Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, and Good Energies Foundation through Climate Breakthrough.The candidate's main focus will be to support the engagement, development, and execution of the project’s strategy across the Caribbean countries.You will succeed in this role if you possess strong communication and influencing skills, as well as solid connections and a thorough understanding of grid operations and energy regulation within the region.If you enjoy challenges, are passionate about renewable energy, and seek a job with a meaningful impact in scaling up clean energy systems globally while contributing significantly to climate change mitigation, RELP will be a great fit for you.HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:Conducting mapping and prioritisation of target countries, and building a structured pipeline of potential country candidates for engagement.Leading regional efforts to secure engagement with target governments.Developing and maintaining regular communication with governments, utilities, regulators, development partners, and private-sector actors to strengthen strategic partnerships at both regional and country levels.Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment and synergies among various clean energy initiatives.Organising and participating in stakeholder meetings, workshops, and consultations to ensure alignment with regional priorities and objectives.Leading the preparation of cooperation agreements with governments, including the definition of the scope of work and related plans towards programme implementation, in close coordination with the Regional Sr Manager and key people in the project team as needed.Leading the preparation of partnership agreements with new partners.Facilitating the transition from the engagement phase to the delivery phase once a country has been onboarded, coordinating closely with the rest of the project team as well as with the wider RELP team as necessary.Monitoring political, regulatory, and market developments that impact clean energy and financing in the region, and adapting the RELP strategy to these new contexts.WHAT YOU WILL BRING:At least 8 years of proven experience in handling projects in collaboration with government and public sector organisations.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Energy Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.Minimum of 8 years in the energy sector, with substantial experience in clean energy projects.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong network within the government in the region.Proven track record of supporting complex projects and partnerships.Knowledge of the operations and dynamics of national electricity markets, renewable energy markets, and relevant technologies in the region.Project management experience, a dynamic person to take responsibility for the objectives jointly set at the management level, and with proven ability to deliver on these.Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and a strong work ethic.PREFERRED SKILLS:Fluent in Spanish.WORK SCHEDULED:This is a full-time and exclusive position.Flexibility to travel frequently (mainly within the region)OUR VALUE PROPOSITION: Competitive fee.International work environment.Flexibility and work-life balance.PTOLearning ProgrammeBe part of a high-impact project that makes a difference to people and the planet.
