About Our GroupFactory Sustainable Engineering (FSE) mission is to ensure the long-term sustainability of HGA factory’s manufacturing systems and processes. We introduce new technologies, develop innovative solutions and improvement projects to maintain and enhance the manufacturing system, ensuring it consistently meets Seagate’s product requirements. Our work encompasses equipment software development, process improvement, and technology enhancement to support and sustain HGA manufacturing operations.About The Role - You WillLead and manage the Hardware (H/W) engineer team within the Factory Sustainable Engineering department. Ensure continuous improvement and undisrupted operation of critical automation mass production machine processes, factory enhancement and quality improvement activitiesLead the team and cross-functional groups such as machine design, maintenance, process, quality, safety engineer to enhance existing processes and equipment, and proactively introduce new technologies, processes, or equipment when opportunities ariseCapable to investigate and resolve complex equipment and process issues using structured problem-solving, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making. Apply appropriate methods and evaluation criteria to achieve effective outcomesManaging the entire machine/process development lifecycle, including setting scopes, budgeting, scheduling, risk assessment, and tracking deliverables using formal methodologiesProvide leadership and mentorship to team members, including coaching emerging leaders. Define and execute development plans, roadmaps, and growth activities to foster a challenge-driven mindset and build a team of future-ready technology expertsDesign Tools: Proficiency with relevant engineering software, such as CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design and simulation tools.About YouBachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical/Electronic, Automation design or a related fieldStrong leadership, coaching, and talent developmentExcellent communication, planning, and organizational skillsSkilled in translating complex technical concepts for non-engineering stakeholdersStrong capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in dynamic environmentsProblem-solving and critical thinkingEffective mentoring, training, and presentation across diverse audiencesFamiliar with factory financials including ROI and budgetingFluent in EnglishYour Experience Includes5-8+ years of total engineering experience in machine design, automation, robotics, or process control systems.2-3+ years in a technical leadership or supervisory role (e.g., Lead Engineer, Project Lead, or Supervisor) overseeing engineering staff or projectsAutomation Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with design, development, and deployment of automated equipment and manufacturing processes (e.g., PLC/PC programming, SCADA, motion control, robotics, vision system, Ai/ML knowledge).System Integration: Proven ability to integrate various hardware components (sensors, actuators, vision systems) and software systems into a cohesive, functional automation solutionProcess Development: understanding of manufacturing principles, process optimization, Lean principles, and statistical process control (SPC) for defining and developing robust automated processesMachine Safety & Standards: Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols for automated machinery (e.g., OSHA, ISO, or local equivalent standards)Proven leadership of engineering teams with 5+ headcountStrong background in automation equipmentSkills in equipment optimization, issue investigation, and debuggingExperienced in AI/ML applications [Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML)], data analysis tools, and equipment process developmentFamiliar in experimental design, DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and CTQ (Critical to Quality)Knowledgeable in GD&T and stack-up analysis (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)Applied expertise in LEAN, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologiesLocation:Location: Teparuk, ThailandHome to over 4,000 employees, our Teparuk site specializes in producing nano-recording heads—a crucial components for the read/write functionality of hard disk drives.
