It was founded by Eli Finkelshteyn and Dan McCormick who still lead the company today.About The TeamThe Recommendation Cross-Channel & Offsite Discovery team is building a platform that empowers marketers to unlock the full potential of multichannel ecommerce discovery. Our service leverages real-time shopper behaviour from website activity to power personalized offsite experiences across multiple channels - including Emails, Push notifications, ads, and more.In a nutshell, we provide real-time personalized experience in static emails and specialize in delivering high-volume traffic (up to 10,000 requests per second). Our goal is to show shoppers what they want, when they want it - boosting engagement, driving revenue, and delivering robust campaign analytics insights at scale.We're a passionate team of cross-functional engineers who love challenges and want to make shoppers' lives better. We believe that empowering everyone in a company to do what they think is best can lead to great things.ResponsibilitiesAs an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and scaling the Offsite Discovery team to build a performant, scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient platform that delivers personalized results beyond the storefront. Specific responsibilities include:Partner with the Product Manager and other stakeholders to set quarterly goals tied to measurable service and business impactGuide engineers' growth by helping them develop new skills, expand ownership, and overcome challengesLead the recruiting and hiring processes for your teamDefine and execute the team's engineering strategyEstablish metrics, dashboards, and alerting that make operational health and delivery success transparentContinuously improve the team's operational excellence through the team's tech stack, processes, and toolsDrive measurable improvements in the product capabilities, costs, and performanceCollaborate with neighboring engineering and non-engineering teams, define and maintain clear interfaces and ownership boundariesRequirements5+ years of software development experience, at least 2 years directly leading engineering teamsProven record of designing and operating high-load real-time systems in production environmentsProficiency in Python and experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
