Engineering Technician - Support Equipment

The Engineering Department of Damang Gold Mine is seeking to employ an experienced and self-motivated individual who will be responsible for ensuring the application of knowledge and experience to maintain and repair of heavy duty machinery in a safe, efficient and effective manner for high equipment availability and reliability, while ensuring that management systems, policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to.About role:Maintain, repair and service Mobile Plant EquipmentBe responsible for examining defective parts such as excessive wear and damageEnsure the cleanliness, lubrication and adjustment of equipment, parts and machineryPlan and participate in regular preventative maintenance inspections such as checking and lubricating bearings, gear boxes, checking and replacing filters, cleaning out wet wells, mowing and other preventative maintenance activitiesAssist with troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing parts or equipment due to failureEncourage inputs from the workgroups which lead to continuous improvementCarry out responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner, thus ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirementsBe responsible for own safety and that of othersEnsure that areas of responsibilities are maintained to high standards of housekeepingAbout you:An NVTI Certificate or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institutionA minimum of three (3) years experience in medium to heavy duty support equipment maintenanceExperience in safe lifting practicesAbility to work for long hours to obtain the required resultsWell developed oral and written communication skills in English and an ability to relate to people of diverse cultures and levelsMedical fitness for the position and environmentA valid Ghanaian driver’s license and a proficiency in driving a light vehicles
