We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.Permanent positionPart time (40 hours per fortnight) – weekdays, public holidays & occasional weekends as rostered for part time positionsManagers and Administrative Worker Grade 1 Level 1 (HS1)Located at The Alfred, Paula Fox Melanoma Cancer CentreGreat staff benefits!The DepartmentHealth Information Services provides a range of functions including medical record management, clinical information requests, VAED statutory reporting, transcription, admissions (Caulfield) and Switchboard and Enquiries services.The RoleThe Alfred Hospital and the Paula Fox Melanoma Cancer Centre Enquiries desks are busy and dynamic administrative areas that provide front of house services, including in-person assistance and telephone enquiries.The successful applicant will be responsible for providing a professional representation of Alfred Health. You will be required to handle inpatient enquiries, face to face communication with patients and visitors and other administrative functions as required.The successful applicant must be customer focused and demonstrate excellent, clear and effective communication skills. The ability to prioritise tasks, promote and maintain good customer relations, professional behaviour and team-spirit will be essential.The Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre (PFMCC) is a newly constructed six -storey building, located on the Alfred Health Campus.The centre provides specialist multidisciplinary, comprehensive care for patients with melanoma and other cancers, integrated with leading medical imaging modalities and research functions to enable seamless and exceptional patient experience. It supports patients through pathways of care designed to adapt to the needs of individual patients, their families and significant others.The centre is home to research laboratories, day-oncology services, specialists consulting suites, procedural spaces, multidisciplinary meeting rooms, a clinical trials centre, offices for staff, clinical imaging, a wellness centre, wellness garden and two levels of patient car parking. The Centre also provides a foundation for Trial Hub flagship initiatives and expanded capacity for research and Clinical Trials, supporting the delivery of bench to bedside and bedside to bench research on the one campus. This enhances The Alfred’s role as a leading clinical and translational research precinct.The centre has capacity to care for up to 300 patients per day.Qualifications And Experience RequiredPrevious reception experience is highly desirablePrevious clerical experience, preferably in a Hospital environment.
