The Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the scheduling of rail operations, including train movements, maintenance activities, and logistics.
This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of rail services, minimizing delays, and optimizing resource utilization. Essential Job DutiesSchedule DevelopmentCreate and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6, including defining project scope, activities, durations, and dependencies. Collaborate with project teams to gather input and ensure that all necessary tasks are included in the schedule. Progress MonitoringRegularly update project schedules to reflect actual progress, including tracking milestones and deliverables. Analyze schedule performance and identify any deviations from the plan, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Resource ManagementAllocate resources effectively within the schedule, ensuring that labor, materials, and equipment are available when needed. Monitor resource utilization and adjust schedules as necessary to optimize efficiency. Reporting and CommunicationPrepare and present schedule reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators, critical paths, Time Impact Analysis (TIA), and potential risks. Communicate schedule updates and changes to project teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding. Risk ManagementIdentify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines. Conduct "what-if" analyses to assess the impact of changes on project schedules.
Project SchedulingDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules for rail construction and maintenance activities. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to establish timelines and milestones for various phases of rail projects. Resource AllocationAllocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution. Monitor resource availability and adjust schedules as necessary to meet project demands. Traffic ManagementCollaborate with traffic management teams to develop plans that minimize disruptions to traffic flow during construction activities. Communicate with local authorities and stakeholders regarding road closures, detours, and construction updates.
Monitoring and ReportingTrack project progress against established schedules and report on any delays or issues that may arise. Prepare regular status reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and project milestones. Problem SolvingIdentify potential scheduling conflicts and develop contingency plans to address them. Work with contractors and subcontractors to resolve scheduling issues and ensure timely project completion. QualificationsRequired Education/Training: A degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred Previous experience in scheduling for highway and road construction projects is highly desirable. Familiarity with project management software and scheduling tools (e. g.
, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Strong analytical skills for evaluating project timelines and resource allocation. Proficiency in using scheduling software and tools for project planning and tracking. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and government officials. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Monitor and report on adherence to project schedules, including on-time completion of milestones. Wage RequirementStarting Salary range for this job is $155,000. 00 - $225,000. 00. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
