Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.Full-time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancementResponsibilitiesWork with clients from a variety of industries or agenciesCollect groundwater, surface water, and soil samplesPrepare technical plans and reportsReview State, Federal, and Local regulations for applicability to site cleanupAssist other SLR teams with work in a variety of disciplines including air monitoring, waste management, permitting, and complianceTravel to clients' facilities for inspections and document reviewWork withinquality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignmentsQualifications/Education/MembershipsBachelor of Science degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or related field required5+ years of experience in environmental consulting requiredProficient in fieldwork tasks such as soil sampling, groundwater sampling, borehole logging, well installation, soil-vapor sampling, and soil and groundwater remediationExcellent written/verbal communication andorganization/analytical skillsAbility to work on a team and independently in a fast-paced consulting environmentProficient with Microsoft Office suite of softwarePossess valid driver's licenseWilling to commit to field assignments of up to two weeks away from AnchorageAbility to travel by airplane and car, including frequent overnight travel during the field seasonSelf-motivated and detail orientedComfortable with public speakingAbility to effectively prioritize work and contribute to project teamsExcellent time management skillsUnderstands budgets and deadlinesNeeds little oversight on common tasksDependable and predictableProfessional work ethicPreferredMaster of Science degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or related fieldUnderstanding of soil and groundwater contamination assessment and remediation (e.g., methods, chemistry)Knowledge of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation and EPA regulationsSkilled in writing technical documents and reportsAbility to train and mentor junior staffUnderstanding of civil construction and industrial operations, including associated equipment, large and smallKnowledge of chemistry and analytical methods for testing soil, water, or wasteOSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER CertificationPhysical DemandsRequiredPosition is office-based, but field work and travel may be required as part of this position.
