Title of the position: Equipment Commercial SourcingLocation: Jagiroad, Assam About The BusinessTata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.Tata Electronics is a subsidiary of the Tata group. The Tata Group operates in more than 100 countries across six continents, with the mission 'To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve globally, through long term stakeholder value creation based on leadership with Trust.’Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Partner with engineering, operations, and finance teams to define technical and commercial requirements for semiconductor equipment procurement. Identify and evaluate global suppliers for semiconductor assembly, test, and fabrication equipment. Develop sourcing strategies, including RFQ/RFP processes, supplier benchmarking, and total cost of ownership (TCOO) analysis. Lead price negotiations, contract finalization, and commercial terms optimization (warranty, payment terms, lead time, etc.) Supplier & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key equipment suppliers. Conduct supplier risk assessments (financial, geopolitical, supply chain resilience). Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with contracts and procurement policies.Project & Delivery Management: Ensure on-time delivery of equipment to meet ramp-up schedules. Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, service) and drive continuous improvement. Resolve commercial disputes and supply chain bottlenecks affecting equipment procurement.Essential AttributesNegotiation & Cost Optimization: Strong ability to negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms with suppliers. Analytical Thinking: Proficiency in Total Cost of Ownership (TCOO) analysis, supplier benchmarking, and RFQ evaluations. Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams to align procurement with business goals. Problem-Solving: Quick resolution of supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and delivery delays. Communication: Clear point of view in contract discussions, supplier meetings, and executive updates Experience in Capex procurement for high-value equipment. Knowledge of incoterms, customs, logistics, and import/export regulations. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Ariba) and e-sourcing tools.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Semiconductor), Supply Chain, or Business Administration.CIPS or CPSM will have added advantageDesired Experience Level 12-20 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in EMS.
