Research Associates work closely with a seasoned Research Analyst to develop financial forecasts and publish research publications that allow our clients to make informed investment decisions.With a limited hierarchy and a team approach, Research Associates have ample opportunity to develop relationships with both institutional and corporate clients, in-depth sector expertise, exceptional financial modelling and valuation skills, and an understanding of the capital markets. This position is based in Toronto.What You'll What You'll DoPerform comprehensive financial statement analysis and create and maintain financial modelsConduct in-depth industry analysis and research using industry and financial sourcesCollect, consolidate and interpret company and industry dataAssist in writing research publications, including morning commentary, company and industry reports, and theme-based research reportsFollow overall market news and evaluate market data to assess short and long-term trendsPrepare PowerPoint presentations for meetings with internal and external clientsCommunicate and handle enquiries from institutional investorsDevelop and maintain connections with investor relations and management of companies under coverage groupLiaise with sales, trading and other areas of the firm within regulatory guidelinesWhat You'll BringA university degree in business with a specialization in accounting or financeEnrolment in or completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program would be an assetWork experience in an accounting, financial, analytical, equity research, corporate development or M&A capacity is preferredWork experience in or a knowledge of the mining sector would be an assetStrong accounting, financial modeling, graphing, and analytical skillsExperience in analyzing financial statements and valuing companiesExcellent command of Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis on Excel & PowerPointFamiliarity with VBA, Python, or other programming languages would be an assetStrong written and verbal communication skills Good business judgment and decision-making skillsAbility to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlinesAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of workA high level of energy and a keen desire to learnWork ArrangementThis position is currently an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work 4-5 days a week in the office.
