If your passion is rooted in all things client focused and you have a strong urge to provide care to a variety of patients in the community and clinic and have extensive wound care experience, then this would be the opportunity for you!We have part-time and casual positions available based out of the Oakville, Milton and CampbellvilleWhat You Will Be DoingOur team of healthcare professionals delivers care to thousands of clients each day enabling people to close the gap between their healthcare needs and overall well-being, caring the way we would care for our own loved ones.Our Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) will assist clients with wound, ostomy and continence care allowing clients to remain within their home and within their community settingThe NSWOC Nurse, is responsible for the provision and management of high quality, appropriate nursing care to all individuals with actual and potential skin integrity issues related to wound management, ostomy care, and continence related nursing diagnosesAdhering to provincial regulatory body standards and practice guidelines, perform safe, competent evidence-based nursing care within his/her scope of practiceAssess, plan, collaborate with the client, family and other members of the health care team to establish and/or update the care plan and implement and evaluate client care with every client encounter and provide clinical advocacyAssessment of clients for appropriateness of virtual consultsSkills Need For SuccessYou are a highly energetic and enthusiastic individual who loves to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentHold a certificate for successful completion of a wound, ostomy, and continence program (NSWOC) from a recognized educational institution; orHold a certificate for successful completion of a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (“WOCN”) program from a recognized educational institution; orHas completed 75% of the NSWOC certificatePrevious work experience in the community or acute care setting with a focus on wound care is preferredYou are highly organized and excel at managing your scheduleYou have excellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to build relationships with internal and external stakeholdersA minimum of two years’ community or clinical/hospital experience preferredYou are currently certified as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the CNOCurrently certified with Standard First Aid & CPR/ AED (Level C)Can possess current Mask Fit testWhat You Can ExpectAs a member of Closing the Gap Healthcare’s Team Made for Caringtm, you can expect:Competitive total compensation packageGroup benefits including medical and dentalGenerous Vacation packageOn the job Microskills Nursing Certificate provided.
