Job DetailsDescriptionStarting Salary Range: $142,036.00 - $169,071.00Examples Of Work To Be PerformedManage the execution of complex, high-priority projects that have citywide strategic and economic impact.Manage coordination between third-party engineering, planning, architectural and other professional contracted external partners.Lead real estate transactions on behalf of the city including strategic acquisitions, dispositions, leases, and easement acquisitions.Coordinate franchise utility considerations and requirements as part of project execution.Define project goals, deliverables, and success measures, aligning with citywide strategic goals.Coordinates interdepartmental resources to facilitate complex development, redevelopment and capital projects.Monitor project performance, legal compliance, and contract execution; recommend adjustments and mitigation strategies as needed.Regularly attends and presents at City Council meetings and provides staff assistance to boards/commissions.Conduct market analysis and research to evaluate real estate opportunities, risks, and trends while contributing project-level insight to policy recommendations. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Required Knowledge Skills And AbilitiesExtensive knowledge of real estate transactions, land use, subdivision regulations, planning principles, and franchise utilities.Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience in delivering high-visibility, complex projects. Ability to interpret and apply contracts, development agreements, and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to brief executives and elected officials effectively. Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving and execution.Education, Training And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Real Estate, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business, or a related field is required.Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in project management, strategic initiatives, or economic development. Experience in municipal government, public-private partnerships, or complex real estate negotiations is highly desirable.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.A master's degree in a related field is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of commercial broker or real estate experience preferred.Working ConditionsWork is performed primarily in a standard office environment with frequent travel to project sites, stakeholder meetings, and community events.Requires regular interaction with city leadership, consultants, business partners, and the public which frequently occurs outside of normal business hours.
