By extending the life cycle of clothing, ThredUp is changing how consumers shop and driving a more sustainable future for fashion.About The RoleAs a Facilities Supervisor at ThredUp you’ll be responsible for ensuring our four distribution centers are safe, efficient, compliant, and well-maintained. You’ll lead a team that manages preventive and reactive maintenance, safety programs, and vendor relationships. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic oversight to support smooth operations, reduce costs, and create a safe, high-functioning environment where our teams can thrive.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Compliance OversightChampion a safety-first culture across all facility operations.Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, environmental, and local safety regulations.Conduct regular inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; document and resolve issues promptly.Oversee fire suppression systems, alarms, emergency lighting, and PPE use.Lead incident investigations and develop corrective action plans.Train technicians and team members on safety protocols and emergency response.Ensure work areas are safe, organized, and aligned with thredUP’s environmental and sustainability goals.Maintenance & Technical ExecutionManage preventive and corrective maintenance on facility assets, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and life safety systems.Perform and oversee troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical and building systems (blockages, resets, small equipment, etc.).Maintain and inspect equipment such as pallet jacks, conveyor systems, printers, and automation assets.Ensure maintenance programs meet compliance and operational reliability standards.Use technology to create, track, and prioritize maintenance work orders.Support remodels, expansions, and special facility projects as needed.Vendor & Asset ManagementOversee vendor contracts and ensure quality, timely, and cost-effective service.Evaluate vendor performance; enforce accountability for service standards.Identify and execute opportunities for in-house repairs to reduce external costs.Partner with Procurement and Operations to manage service agreements and cost control.Understand “repair vs. replace” decision-making and manage asset life cycles accordingly.Leadership & CollaborationSupervise and schedule maintenance technicians across multiple shifts.Communicate maintenance priorities and impacts to operations leadership.Engage and educate new team members and leaders on property management priorities.Foster collaboration with landlords, contractors, and local authorities for facility permits and compliance.Model inclusivity and respect while creating an environment of trust and teamwork.Cost & Efficiency ManagementTrack maintenance labor, parts, and repair costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.Contribute to annual maintenance and capital budget planning.Recommend and implement efficiency improvements that reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.QualificationsRequired5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, property management, or industrial operations supportStrong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systemsExperience leading or supervising maintenance teamsFamiliarity with OSHA regulations and safety best practicesProficiency in maintenance tracking systems and work order toolsStrong communication skills and ability to manage vendor relationships effectivelyAbility to lift/move up to 40 lbs., climb ladders, and remain mobile during shiftsPreferredPrevious experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or retail facilityTechnical education or certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or safety disciplinesOSHA or similar safety certificationExperience managing facility systems across multiple locationsWhat We OfferCompetitive salary + equity opportunitiesEmployee stock purchase planFlexible PTO + 9 paid holidaysPaid Sabbatical after 3 years of full-time employmentGenerous paid parental leaveMedical, dental, vision, 401k, life and disability insuranceA culture built on our DOTS values: Delivering an exceptional customer experience, Openly giving and receiving feedback, Teaming Up for success, and Striving for excellenceA strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging, encouraging all team members to bring their authentic selves to workThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.What We Offer:Competitive salary (we leverage market data)Many ThredUp employees also have the opportunity to own shares of ThredUp stock and are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awardsEmployee stock purchase planFlexible PTO (take the time you need) + 13 company holidaysPaid Sabbatical after 3 years of full time employmentGenerous paid parental leave for new mothers and fathersMedical, dental, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance offeredWe live by our Core Values of Transparency, SpeakingUP, Thinking Big, Infinite Learning, Influencing Outcomes & Seeking the TruthWe believe diversity, inclusion and belonging is key for our teamAt ThredUp, our mission has been built on extending the lives of millions of unique clothing items.
