The school campus includes the primary school (Prep to Year 6), an early childhood development program (ages 0 to Year 6), and several other community programs onsite. We are proud of our vibrant and diverse school community, where students are given every opportunity to thrive.At Gatton State School, we value our friendly and productive learning environment, our focus on creating positive and individualised teaching experiences, and our extensive array of opportunities in sport, science, technology, engineering, maths, and music.About The RoleAs the Family Support Coordinator, you will play a key role in assisting the school to support children and families as they transition into school from early childhood services. You will facilitate access to learning and engagement supports to help establish positive patterns of school attendance, behaviour, and engagement in learning. Additionally, you will connect families with external government and non-government services to reduce barriers to learning and ensure the best outcomes for students.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with external partners, parents, and carers to improve student attendance, behaviour, and engagement in learning, while building positive relationships and effective partnerships.Work with school staff to understand children's needs and connect families with services such as health, therapeutic, and developmental interventions to support learning engagement.Identify and support vulnerable children and families, including facilitating access to specialist interventions, NDIS services, and other government and non-government supports.Build local school capability to strengthen engagement with students and families, improve classroom learning adjustments, and coordinate multi-agency support.Use data to identify, implement, and evaluate support measures that improve school attendance, engagement, and academic outcomes for students.What You BringExperience working in a culturally responsive manner with diverse families and students, or a willingness to train in culturally appropriate approaches.Knowledge of the region's demographics, local service providers, and agency supports is highly regarded.Familiarity with, or the ability to develop knowledge of, the early childhood sector and transition processes to effectively support vulnerable families and children.Interested?
