Role Overview The Fashion – Product Design – Assistant supports the creative and technical development of fashion products from concept to production. Working closely with designers, product developers, and merchandising teams, this role contributes to trend research, material selection, sample preparation, and product documentation. The position bridges creativity and practicality—ensuring that designs align with brand aesthetics, market trends, and production requirements. Ideal for individuals passionate about fashion and design, this role offers hands-on experience in the product development process within a dynamic and fast-paced industry.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design and development of fashion collections, supporting the creative direction and seasonal concepts.Conduct trend, color, and fabric research to inform design proposals and product strategies.Create sketches, mood boards, and technical drawings using design software or by hand.Collaborate with sourcing and production teams to select suitable fabrics, trims, and materials.Support the preparation of tech packs, measurement charts, and other production documentation.Coordinate sample requests, fitting sessions, and revisions based on design or production feedback.Maintain organization of samples, swatches, and design archives.Assist in preparing presentations for internal reviews, buyer meetings, or marketing materials.Monitor timelines to ensure product development milestones are met in line with seasonal calendars.Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers to track sample development and ensure product quality.Stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitors’ collections.Support the team in administrative and logistical tasks related to product development.Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Product Development, or a related field.0–2 years of experience in fashion design or product development (internship experience welcomed).Strong understanding of garment construction, textiles, and design techniques.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and CAD tools.Attention to detail, creativity, and an eye for color, proportion, and design balance.Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects.Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across design, production, and merchandising teams.Familiarity with trend forecasting tools, digital design platforms, or PLM systems is a plus.Basic understanding of the fashion production cycle and sustainability principles preferred.Adaptability and enthusiasm for learning within a creative environment.Summary The Fashion – Product Design – Assistant plays a vital role in transforming creative concepts into tangible products that resonate with consumers.
