Job Description

Basic purpose of the jobServe as a key strategic business partner to the assigned TAs (Therapeutic Areas) through forecasting and business analytics to drive strategic decision making of the TA (Therapeutic Area) and ultimately help the business deliver profitability and further growth.Accountabilities Manage and drive key financial process (e.g., Outlook and Long Term Forecast planning) by working closely with TAs, FIN, HR, HP Supply and Global stakeholders.Milestone management of key financial process with stakeholders (local and Global)Act as a challenging partner to the TAs to ensure TA sets objective yet ambitious forecastRaise and quantify potential Risks and OpportunitiesAnalyze and challenge overall and TA level P&LsForecasts, as well as assumption identification and quantification, are developed and communicated with the tools and methods that are available and agreed to by Head of S&A, TA Heads and Global ForecastingForecast accuracy and deadline achievement of each milestone of the financial processSupport the TA to drive their business performance and potential through an end-to-end approach that connects all the data pieces to deliver robust and meaningful business insight; leveraging existing and new data sources, techniques, system, and tools.Setting Key Performance MeasuresPreparation of Monthly reportingProfitability analysis (resource planning)Conducting ad-hoc business analytics for the TARelevancy and appropriateness of Key Performance Measures and Indicators to drive business performanceAccuracy and timely reporting and analytics of financials and KPIs (Monthly reporting)Accuracy and reliability of business performance analysis for the TA to assist in brand/asset strategy decisions, optimization and to identify business opportunityFoster strong working relationships with key counterparts in CI, TA and HP Operations to ensure that all relevant information is incorporated and integrated into analyses.Ensure that the work done in each areas is optimized and alignedMinimization of duplicate work across functionsFeedback from stakeholdersRegulatory And / Or Organisational RequirementsEnsure all tasks are carried out in accordance with respective applicable BI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), BI Code of Conduct, BI processes and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with BI values as well as complying with local, and where relevant international law eg Data Protection Law of Japan / GDPR EUJob ComplexityStrategic thinking and ability to establish strong working relationship with stakeholders to effectively work cross functionally.InterfacesPrimary internal interfaces:Information exchange and dialogue with functions within Japan: Human Pharma Leadership team, TA (Marketing and Sales), Medicine, HP Operations, Supply Chain Management, FinancePrimary external interfaces:Global Forecasting team, vendors (IQVIA, ZS etc.)Job ExpertiseIn-depth knowledge in sales forecastingStrong communication/interpersonal skills to effectively work cross functionallySignificant analytic skills, able to clearly interpret and distill financial, scientific, clinical and commercial information and to make strategic decisionJapanese regulation, policy and healthcare systemJob ImpactImproved management of NBI's forecasting, resource allocation and business analytics capabilities, improved efficiencies and consistency of reporting of key information, empowered business leaders able to analyze and deliver insights with confidence across their business areas.Minimum Education/Degree RequirementsBachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related fieldRequired Capabilities (Skills, Experience, Competencies)KnowledgeGood understanding and/or experience in sales forecasting ideally within the pharmaceutical industryGood understanding of pharmaceutical industry and trend of environmental changesGood understanding of finances (P&L)Good knowledge and/or experience with strategic frameworks, marketing and executionProfessional skills:Capable to provide the leadership to develop and implement solutions to complex problemsWide breadth of business acumen and understanding of marketing methods, market research and budget/forecast planningUnbiased international view and inter-cultural competenceOpen minded, motivating personality with drive and initiativeWillingness and ability to create and share knowledgeCritical thinker with ability to self-manage workload, including re-prioritizing and delivery under tight timelinesAbility to work well under pressure, influence without authority, good interpersonal and negotiation skillsTeam player, flexible and willingness to adapt in a changing environmentLanguage skills:Japanese: Fluent / English: Fluent (CEFR B2)Recruiter: K.
