Fiber Optic Engineer / Fiber Testing Engineer

Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Engineer responsible for installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic networks. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with OTDR testing, splicing, and documentation of fiber routes to ensure optimal network performance.---Key Responsibilities:Perform OTDR testing, power meter and light source testing, and loss measurements on single-mode and multi-mode fibers.Analyze and interpret OTDR traces to identify faults, splices, and connector losses.Conduct fiber characterization tests for G.652, G.655, and other fiber types at 1310 nm, 1550 nm, and 1625 nm wavelengths.Handle fiber splicing (fusion/mechanical) and ensure proper fiber terminations.Perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fiber optic links for telecom, power, or data networks.Prepare and maintain detailed test reports, as-built drawings, and documentation.Troubleshoot fiber breaks, high losses, and link degradation.Ensure compliance with industry standards (ITU-T, IEEE, IEC).Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure timely project delivery.Follow all safety procedures and use proper testing tools and protective equipment.---Requirements:Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or related field.Minimum 2–5 years of experience in fiber optic network installation and testing.Proficiency in using OTDR, power meter, light source, and visual fault locator (VFL).Knowledge of fiber types (G.652, G.655, G.657) and optical link design.Ability to analyze OTDR test results and generate accurate reports.Experience with fusion splicers, patch panels, and enclosures.Valid driving license and willingness to travel to field sites.---Preferred Skills:Familiarity with DWDM/SDH/networks.Certifications such as FOA CFOT, ETA Fiber Optic Technician, or equivalent.Good communication and teamwork skills.📨 Apply Now – Send your CV to:jawad@inspired.com.pk
