This role offers hands-on experience working with cutting-edge PAM4 and Coherent optical technologies. In addition to optical and high-speed hardware exposure, this role emphasizes software/firmware support for customer firmware development and test. As an intern, you will collaborate closely with senior FAEs and the U.S. application team to support customer engagements, debug hardware/software systems, and help optimize optical module performance.What You Can ExpectAssist senior FAEs in reviewing customer designs involving PAM4 and Coherent optical modulesSupport lab activities to tune and optimize customer modules for improved performance under the guidance of experienced engineersParticipate in product bring-up and evaluation, including initial software setup, TX/RX performance testing, and reproducing/reporting issuesContribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, FAQs, and internal training materialsJoin onsite or remote customer support sessions to assist in debugging and issue resolutionLearn and apply internal software tools for development, analysis, and debuggingAssist with customer firmware development : image flashing, configuration, register access, and status/log collection over I²C/ MDIO.Support module control/management features and compliance checks (e.g., CMIS 5.x, 8636).Support signal chain simulations using component models (as needed) What You Will GainHands-on experience with state-of-the-art PAM4, Coherent ODSP technologiesPractical exposure to system-level bring-up and hardware/software co-debuggingDeep insight into the field application engineering workflow and customer interactionMentorship and technical guidance from experienced FAEs and U.S. engineering teamsOpportunity to learn about industry-leading SerDes DSPs in 5nm/3nm/2nm process nodes for 112G/224G/448G applicationsWhat We're Looking ForCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Electronics/electrical Engineering, Computer Science, software, or a related fieldFundamental understanding of high-speed signaling (e.g., PAM4) or optical communication systems is preferredProgramming: Comfortable with Python and C; able to write small utilities and read/modify embedded code.Strong willingness to learn, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindsetAble to commit at least 3–5 days per week for a period of 6 months or moreExperience with DCA, BERT, or other test equipment is a strong advantageKnowledge of signal and power integrity is a plusExperience with simulation tools such as ADS or HFSS is desirableAdditional Compensation And Benefit ElementsWith competitive compensation and great benefits, you will enjoy our workstyle within an environment of shared collaboration, transparency, and inclusivity.
