As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains, and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.Job SummaryThe Field Intern, after completing health and safety training, will learn the fundamentals of FieldCore Turbine and Generator products under the Guidance of experienced Field supervisors/Engineers/TFAs. This role will assist with variety of engineering projects of varying sizes and scope under direct supervision.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesUndergo training to learn the fundamentals of the Turbines and Generator product lines as well as completing the required environment, health and safety training that is Pre-requisite to visiting sitesDevelop skill in the use of Field Core web-based applicationsLearn basic technical skill and perform site work with direct instruction and supervisionLearn the fundamentals of project management, scheduling, resource loading, and cost control to support the Field Team during major overhaulsAssist the SM and Field Engineers to plan jobs, expedite shop repair activities and facilitate parts orders critical to outagesAssist the Service Manager in the research projects, simplification projectsProvide remote and on-site support and communications to the FieldCore teamGeneral Tech/Admin assistance to the Ops teamReceiving customer callsExpediting short-notice purchasing and shipping for overhaul jobsOrganizing activities and logisticsAbility and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignmentsTravel may be requiredMay be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.Required Qualifications & ExperienceStudents in major of Engineering (Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Software, Systems).Open to current students who will be returning to their in-class studies upon the completion of the work term.Desired CharacteristicsExceptional communication, planning, technical and people skillsCommitment to environmental health and safetyAble to work in a team environment and cooperate with fellow workersCapable of creative thinking and quick problem solvingInnovativeTeam playerSelf-motivatedFieldCore is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex, national origin, age, veteran status, status as a qualified individual with a disability, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, ancestry, genetic information, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by law.
