Role Description The Finance Assistant / Accounting Assistant provides essential support to the financial operations of the organization by helping maintain accurate records, ensure timely processing of transactions, and uphold strong financial controls. This role contributes to the smooth functioning of daily accounting activities while supporting the broader finance team in reporting, analysis, and compliance tasks. The position plays an important part in ensuring financial information is reliable, organized, and accessible for internal review and strategic decision-making.Key responsibilities include processing invoices, expenses, and payments; reconciling accounts; updating financial databases; and maintaining orderly documentation of transactions. The assistant may help prepare basic financial reports, support month-end and year-end closing procedures, and assist in verifying the accuracy of financial data across systems. Additional tasks may include tracking budgets, monitoring outstanding items, assisting with audit preparations, and helping resolve discrepancies through coordination with internal departments or external vendors.The role requires careful attention to detail as well as an understanding of core accounting principles. The assistant may be responsible for verifying supporting documents, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and maintaining confidentiality of financial information. Clear communication is essential, as the role often involves following up on missing information, clarifying discrepancies, or helping stakeholders understand standard accounting procedures.The Finance Assistant / Accounting Assistant works closely with accountants, analysts, and operations teams, contributing to a collaborative and structured workflow.
