Finance Business Analyst – 6-Month ContractLocation: Hobart, Tasmania Rate: Competitive Daily Rate Start: ASAPAre you an experienced Finance Business Analyst with strong accounting knowledge and hands-on SAP experience? We’re partnering with a major organisation in Tasmania to support a Finance Uplift program aimed at improving efficiency, data integrity, reporting processes, and overall financial capability.This role will suit someone who thrives in complex finance environments, enjoys engaging with stakeholders, and can translate business problems into clear, actionable requirements.About the RoleAs the Finance Business Analyst, you will play a key part in shaping and delivering a range of Finance Uplift initiatives currently in the Needs phase. Your focus will be on capturing business requirements, analysing process gaps, identifying inefficiencies, and building well-structured user stories and business cases that support strategic decision-making.Working closely with finance leaders, digital delivery teams, and subject matter experts, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions—ensuring initiatives are aligned with organisational goals and deliver real operational value.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & DocumentationCapture and analyse business needs, problem statements, and process inefficiencies within the finance function.Develop high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, one-pagers, risk logs, and supporting documentation.Prepare business cases and options papers to evaluate solution pathways, including cost, risk, feasibility, and strategic fit.Stakeholder EngagementFacilitate workshops with finance and digital stakeholders to gather requirements and define the future-state processes.Act as a central point of contact between finance SMEs, delivery managers, and technical teams.Ensure effective communication to keep stakeholders aligned across each phase of the initiative.Technical & Functional InsightCollaborate with IT teams and vendors to assess root causes of system or data issues and contribute to solution design.Provide clarity on business requirements to support functional and performance testing.Ensure documentation and proposed solutions are easy to understand and aligned with project objectives.About YouYou will bring a strong blend of accounting knowledge, systems thinking, and analytical capability.
