Job Description

As a Director of Finance and Accounting, you will lead the finance and accounting strategy for InComm Japan, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Managing a team of six, this role oversees P&L and Balance Sheet responsibilities for gift card, payment transaction, and marketing businesses in Japan, including budgeting, forecasting, and accounting. Key duties include revenue recognition, margin analysis, payment and billing reconciliation, monthly reporting, and balance sheet account reconciliation. You will partner with business leaders to support retail distributors and content providers, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and revenue recognition.Responsibilities:• Fluent in Japanese and English.• Ability to be “hands-on,” willingness to understand business model and underlying detailed accounting processes to gather ownership of all accounting functions and processes.• Willingness to expend individual time to digest current procedures, understanding the purpose of processes and withholding making changes until understanding end-to-end accounting processes and data sources.• Seasoned leader who has ability to build on staff’s strengths and compliment their weaknesses, willingness to meet staff “where they are at” and through mentoring and leading, assist staff in meeting Company objectives.• Responsible for overall aspects of internal financial reporting.• Manage monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close and reporting process.• Team member of the Global Accounting Organization that supports a Significant Global Entity with world-wide and in-country transaction volume of $60.0B and $4.5B, respectively. Ability to partner with local business leadership while conforming with Global Entity Reporting requirements and processes.• Direct responsibilities for external financial statement STAT audit.• Manage and direct staff enabling staff to develop the appropriate capabilities to meet Company objectives.• Analyze and review financial information pertaining to monthly and quarterly close and provide executive level presentation of financial results.• Tax return preparation and administration for income and consumption taxes.• Experience transitioning accounting system to ERP. Key contributor, working with IT and direct staff, to implement new accounting and financial systems and other tools.Qualifications:• Degree qualified (preferably with a finance discipline).• Minimum of 15 years of audit, accounting, and financial experience.• Current, extensive knowledge of Local GAAP and internal control processes.• Knowledge and experience with financial systems and the integration of financial information into the General Ledger.• JICPA Active License a plus.• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.• Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.• Self-motivated and self-directed.• Blackline, Net Suite and Oracle experience a plus.
