Finance ManagerWe are the country’s oldest asset management service provider and began operations in the country in 1975. Bifm is a 74.9% owned subsidiary of Bifm Holdings and is 25.1% owned by a Citizen Employee Share Scheme for the benefit of its citizen employees. Bifm Holdings together with Botswana Life Insurance Limited (BLIL) are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL), a company listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE).Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Finance Manager.Role PurposeThe Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the execution and end-to-end financial accounting and management of the company, investment accounting, financial reporting, month end reconciliations.The business performance management, analysis and reporting is also the responsibility of the finance manager.The role also includes the maintenance of relationships with stakeholders, such as the Board, regulatory authorities and supervisory bodies.ResponsibilitiesPrepares Annual Financial Statements for BIFM Limited, Bifm Holdings Company Limited, Bifm CEE, Bifm Unit Trusts (Pty) Ltd and all 16 UT Funds in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and Botswana Companies Act.Analyses and review monthly management accounts with commentary.Responsible for monthly financial reporting to BIHL and Sanlam Finance.Responsible for cost management and ensure profitability and maximize shareholder returns.Responsible for treasury management.Reviews balance sheet reconciliations on monthly basis and ensures that all reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner.Prepares Board reports and attends Board meetings (Audit and Risk Committee, and main board).Prepares EXCO reports( BIHL and BIFM reports) and attend EXCO meetings (only BIFM).Contributes to annual Company balance scorecards and preparation of strategy targets (5 year plan).Prepares BLIL Annuity Monthly report and ensure timely submission of the report to client.Reviews monthly, Quarterly and Annual NBFIRA returns and ensure timely submission and compliance.Responsible for yearly budget, monthly management accounts and forecasts.Reviews balance sheet recons for all the 16 UT funds to ensure that they are in line with the accounting best practice and IFRS compliant.Direct the development, motivation and utilization of human resources to embed a competent knowledge base with appropriate provision for succession planning in line with organizational needs and requirements.Responsible for setting and monitoring performance standards and taking action to correct deviations to achieve the departmental objectives.Drive Internal and External audits - Ensure timely closure of audits.Prepare final year-end tax computation and submission of income tax return in accordance with the Botswana Unified Revenue Services Act.Monitor and manage the company’s office administration function.Ensure adherence to business continuity plans and disaster management.Minimum Qualifications & ExperienceAbility to analyze financial information and awareness of the financial reporting requirements.A professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/BICA) is a requirement.At least 5 years post qualification working experience in a financial institution, at least 4 years should have been at managerial.Have audit experience.Be a member of BICA/ACCA/CIMA and in good standing.CompetenciesKnowledge of finance, economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets,Business Acumen: A strong background in business development and managementKnowledge of local, regional and international laws and regulations relevant to the financial servicesBusiness Development: Ability to support other business areas to attract and retain newAbility to communicate and influence at executive level.Leadership: Ability to lead and supervise a team and work with other Executive staffGaboronePublished Date: 21 November 2025Closing Date: 05 December 2025
