4YP are seeking to appoint a part-time Finance ManagerJob Purpose:As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team (“SLT”), ensure the financial health of the charity and company by administering accounting operations that meet legal requirements.Principle responsibilities:To assist the CEO and Treasurer in ensuring that charity remains compliant with all statutory financial regulations. To take the lead in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance and accounting function with responsibility for the management of financial transactions and procedures.To work with the Operations Manager to review, embed, drive forward and monitor the ongoing increased efficiency of financial systems, processes and reporting.Objectives and deliverables: Compliance Develop, implement and monitor internal financial controls in accordance with for Charities Commission checklist (CC8) as a minimum benchmark. To work with the Accountants to ensure that Annual Accounts and Reports are prepared in accordance with The Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP). Assist with developing and amending financial policy and practice. Support the CEO with tasks related to their role as Company Secretary. Financial functions General bookkeeping services (using SAGE) Co-ordinate cash management and banking within the organisation, including bank account reconciliation and petty cash Supervise payroll workings and processes Supported by the CEO, lead on the preparation of annual budgets in accordance with the vision, mission and strategic aims of the charity Preparation of papers to the Board of Trustees Submission of Gift Aid claims Maintenance of the fixed asset register Year-end preparation Ensuring that bank mandates and the Charities Commission and Companies House are updated Financial systems, processes and reporting To manage internal processes related to petty cash, staff/volunteer expenses and debit card transactions. Production of monthly management and monitoring reports (projections, progress against budget and cash/reserve position). In conjunction with the Operations Managers, allocate, track and report on the spending of restricted income and designated funds (e.g. from grants, trusts, foundations, contracts and donors) in accordance with the required outputs and outcomes of the funder. General and other To be a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, contributing to the formation of the agenda and providing financial reporting as required by the CEO or Operations Manager. To attend meetings with the CEO and Treasurer, as requested, providing a strategic overview of the current financial position. To attend Board of Trustee meetings, AGMs and any EGMs, assisting the CEO and Treasurer with preparation and presentation of financial reporting. To undertake other appropriate duties as reasonably requested by the CEO.
