Job Title: Finance OfficerLocation: Tripoli, LibyaContract Type: Full-time Position Summary:The Finance Officer will play a key role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the company within Libya’s oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working with Libyan banks, handling complex transactions, and ensuring compliance with both local and international financial standards.Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.Maintain strong relationships with Libyan banks to ensure smooth processing of payments, foreign currency transfers, letters of credit (LCs), and other banking activities.Ensure compliance with Libyan financial laws, tax regulations, and banking procedures relevant to the oil and gas sector.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with company and regulatory requirements.Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing analysis and recommendations for cost control and financial efficiency.Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets and financial policies.Manage payroll processing and ensure timely payment of salaries, benefits, and statutory deductions.Assist with audits, liaising with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.Participate in developing and improving financial systems, processes, and internal controls.Support management with financial insights and data-driven decision-making.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA are advantageous).Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, preferably within the oil and gas or energy services industry.Strong experience dealing with Libyan banks, including corporate banking, LC management, and currency transactions.In-depth knowledge of Libyan tax laws, exchange control, and financial regulations.Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).Excellent command of Arabic and English (spoken and written).Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.High ethical standards, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Attributes:Experience working in joint ventures or international oilfield service companies.Familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRS).Proven ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including banks, partners, and regulatory bodies.How to Apply:Qualified candidates are invited to submit their CV to k.ezubia@alwijha.com.ly indicating “Finance Officer ” in the subject line.
