A specialized firm offering expert financial advisory and bookkeeping services to franchises, using a proprietary Budget for Profit™ method. It ensures timely compliance, drives client profitability, and supports franchisee community growth.Permanent PositionRemote- Working USA time zoneQualified Chartered Accountant (SA)Financial Accountant/ Senior BookkeeperThis role blends hands-on monthly close execution with financial oversight, delivering precise, compliant, and insightful reporting across multiple franchise clients. The ideal candidate will coordinate and perform account reconciliations, compile budgets, and serve as backup for accounts payable.Key Responsibilities:Monthly Close & Client OwnershipOwn the full monthly close process for assigned franchise clients, completing books by the 12th–13th of each month.Maintain tailored bookkeeping checklists in Asana and ensure access to all financial portals (banks, payroll, loans, etc.).Proactively flag delays or discrepancies to the assigned Staff Accountant.Transaction Accuracy & ComplianceCategorize all transactions accurately by the 3rd business day, using a standardized chart of accounts.Manage bank feeds in QuickBooks Online, assign correct location codes, and accrue expenses (e.g., annual insurance, prior-month rent).Upload supporting documents; request receipts/invoices via client portal for transactions.Reconciliations & Journal EntriesReconcile all accounts (bank, credit card, loans).Prepare complete journal entries (excluding payroll) by the 10th, including accruals, loan allocations, and sales adjustments.Process payroll journal entries with full accuracy—gross wages, taxes, 401k, benefits, and multi-location/department splits.Internal Audit & Quality ControlConduct monthly internal audits to verify recurring expenses (rent, utilities, subscriptions), loan accuracy, and balance sheet integrity.Escalate critical observations to the Fractional CFO, including:Cash deposits not matching journal entriesMissing rent or insurance paymentsUnknown checks depositedProcess ImprovementIdentify automation opportunities (payroll, service sales, reconciliations).Contribute to internal projects enhancing efficiency and reporting tools.RequirementsCA (SA) qualification (non-negotiable)3+ years in franchise or multi-location bookkeepingAdvanced QuickBooks Online proficiencyStrong working knowledge of Xero, Profitkeeper, and AsanaExceptional attention to detail and deadline disciplineExcellent communication and remote collaboration skillsWhy Join Us?Fully remote with flexible hoursWork with a growing firm supporting franchise success nationwideBe part of a team that values precision, accountability, and innovationOpportunity to influence processes and reporting standards
