Flexible working hours with core hours between 10–155 weeks’ holiday plus half days on Christmas and New Year’s Eve, as well as pension and insurance schemes About the RoleThe Financial Accountant is responsible for leading HRHF’s accounting and financial reporting functions. The role ensures accurate and timely financial records, strong internal controls, and compliance with statutory, donor, and organisational requirements. In addition to meeting financial reporting needs, the position supports teams through training and guidance, while contributing to HRHF’s mission and values.Key ResponsibilitiesLead accounting and statutory financial reporting.Coordinate year-end accounts and external audits.Handle payments, payroll (calculations) and reimbursements.Ensure donor and regulatory compliance in all financial processes.Assist budget owners in monitoring program, project, and organisational budgets performance through Month-end reporting.Improve systems, policies and workflows to ensure sound financial control.Provide guidance to staff on financial tools and procedures.Perform other related duties as assigned, with occasional administrative and logistical support where necessary.About YouYou are a person who enjoys working in a structured and systematic way, with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail. You thrive in an environment that values both independence and teamwork.What you bring to the team: Degree in finance or accounting, with a minimum of 5 years’ full-cycle accounting experience (experience from the nonprofit sector is an advantage).Solid knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and relevant legal regulations.Proven experience with financial reporting, audits, and budget monitoring to support management decision-making.Proficiency in accounting systems (preferably Xledger), Microsoft Excel, and using digital collaboration tools in a geographically distributed team environment.Interest in identifying and implementing process improvements in financial systems and reporting.English and Norwegian (Swedish or Danish), working proficiency level, oral and written
