And you play a part in shaping the future of the outdoors, for people and our planet.This role contributes to REI’s success by providing timely, convincing, relevant, and technically sound financial analysis and recommendations that will assist end-users in evaluating corporate performance and support decision making. The Analyst provides this support to senior management, retail, support center and distribution center managers and supervisors through performing financial analysis, management reporting, strategic planning, budgeting, and leading special projects. The Financial Analyst II is expected to work independently with the divisions they support, representing the Finance Department as a subject matter expert.Responsibilities And QualificationsSupport the development and execution of Co-op’s strategic growth initiatives through means of partnership, investment, and evaluation of new business models.Build financial models, create business cases, and analyze data to drive actionable insights for leadership decisions.Partner with and drive cross-functional efforts in all phases of execution including diligence, business case creation, financial modeling, planning and integration.Drive proactive ad-hoc financial analysis by identifying what information is needed, where the data can be found and how it should be compiled, analyzed & presented.Own the set-up, creation and execution of strategic planning, budgeting, and subsequent intra-year forecasting of processes and tools.Work with department managers to identify best practices for expense tracking and what metrics should be measured; instill focus on forecast accuracy and financial discipline.Produce budget justification analysis utilized by the Leadership Team to review, prioritize and make decisions on the proposed operating budget.Produce regular co-op reporting including Board Packets, Business Reviews, and key operational dashboards.Identify financial impact of strategic objectives, which are to be factored into the five-year strategic plan.Compile monthly reporting for each department that explains P&L variances and solicit feedback for forecasting.Interact with internal and external auditors, providing data and explanations on processes flows.Make decisions guided by policies, procedures, business plans, and guidance from Manager.Required qualifications:2+ years of financial planning and analysis experience in Accounting/FinanceBachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or similarDemonstrated ability to identify, analyze and objectively solve problems using sound judgmentAbility to effectively handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines under pressureAdvanced PC experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointCreates a strong, mutually supportive work spirit and culture where people can do their bestEstablishes trust and inspires othersDelivers on commitments and holds others to sameChampions the organization and advocates solutions in the overall Company's best interestUses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunitiesConsolidates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound decisionsConsiders the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customersPreferred qualifications:MBA or similar certificationExcellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with senior management professionalsExperience with Essbase, SAP, and/or equivalent planning and ERP systemsDemonstrated project management skillsExperience working in the Supply Chain industryClosingAt REI, we believe the outdoors is for all.
